Sam’s Psalm
I walk in the valley of nothingness.
No light, No sound,
No smell, no taste, no feeling.
Infinity has come for me.
Alone in nothing, I am left to wonder.
Am I dead or not?
Then, a tiny spark of light.
An existential moment in the night.
I transform into a new being.
This is how it is and always will be.
A different table is set before me.
Still, I’m filled with all I need. I lack nothing.
You who see the change do not cry.
Your eyes belie the truth.
I am not afraid, and I am not alone.
Still whole, I dwell anew with the Shepherd.
And will for years to come.
